“I don’t think I can get myself to do it.” The night before Kristine’s boudoir session, she was backing out, intimidated by thinner girls on my web site, scared of being in front of the camera and showing her body, generally afraid of being vulnerable. But she is a strong woman. She’s a huge inspiration to me because she’s worked through hard times in her life and used them for strength and never sympathy. I told her about how hard it was for ME to get in front of the camera for my boudoir session, and reminded her of my eating disorder and body dysmorphic. I showed her my images, and when she said I looked amazing, I reminded her that we wear the same size. “If I could do it, you can do it.” She trusted me and went through with the shoot, again choosing bravery over intimidation. I love her strength, and I’m proud to call her my friend.
Thank you thank you thank you Kristine, for trusting me, for being vulnerable, and for loving yourself enough to give yourself this gift.
