I’ve known Sam’s parents since we were children, so this Yosemite Day After session is VERY special to me. Heidi and Sam were friends for years before they officially started dating, and that’s why they’re such a solid, loving couple. They’re so sweet to each other and support each other in everything they do.
Sam proposed on a family trip to the mountains. Heidi was pretty much part of their family already, so of course she went with them on their family vacations. They were going to take a beautiful hike and he told her to wear something nice, which made her suspicious, because who wears something nice on a hike?! She dressed up in cute hiking gear and wondered, “Is he going to propose?!” During their hike, Sam’s parents and grandparents took off, and he told his sister to get lost too. Heidi said, “She can come with us!” but his sister left, then darted behind some trees, ready with a camera. Sam handed Heidi binoculars and said, “Look across the lake through the binoculars.” “Why?!” She was being bratty, so he said, “JUST LOOK THROUGH THE BINOCULARS!” When she did, his family was holding up signs that said, “Will you marry me?” When she turned around, he was on one knee with the ring, and his sister got it all on camera. Such a cute story!
They just celebrated their one year anniversary, and I’m thrilled to see how well they’re doing. She married into an amazing family and he got an incredible wife. Congratulations guys! You deserve all this happiness!
