Boudoir Q&A: Megan

Have you been thinking about doing a boudoir session, but are too nervous to move forward? Hopefully this Q&A with one of my beautiful clients will put your mind at ease. Remember, you don’t have to be perfect do do a boudoir session! Empower yourself and get in touch with your sexuality. You won’t regret it.

Q: What was your experience like while shopping for a boudoir photographer?

A: I had so many fears. I was worried because I’m not a stick thin model and wasn’t 100% comfortable with the idea. I was also worried about finding a photographer I felt comfortable with.

Q: What was your experience like while planning your session with Dawn?

A: Amazing beyond belief.  Within minutes of meeting Dawn for my consultation, I felt like we were old friends.  She was so sweet and made me feel comfortable immediately. I was able to easily communicate all of my fears about doing this and she put them all at ease. I texted her multiple times before our session for help with planning my outfits and just all kinds of questions.  She was so patient and helpful along the way. I also texted her just to chat because I adore her that much! The day of our session she had me lay out all my outfits and helped me pick the ones that would look the best.

Q: How did you feel during your session?

A: Sexy and confident. Even though I’d already met Dawn, I was still very nervous and self conscious to actually do the shoot. She was so complimentary, professional and reassuring. She has beautiful areas set up in her home for pictures so we had a nice variety of “backgrounds”.

Q: How did your boudoir session change your view of yourself?

A: I’ve struggled with being plus size and feeling confident for ages. This shoot really helped me to feel more confident in general and actually more comfortable in my own skin.

Q: Now that you have your photos, how do you feel about yourself as a woman?

A: These were a gift for my husbands 50th.  He has one hanging in his closet and the rest in an album.  I love that he wants a picture of his half naked wife of almost twelve years to be the first thing he sees when he walks into his closet. He said it was the best gift he’s even been given and that my photographer was amazing.

Q: What is your advice to other women regarding boudoir photography?

A: Just do it! If you’re not comfortable and unsure, just schedule a consultation with Dawn.  She’ll put you at ease and help you see how much fun you’ll actually have!  You’re not going to find somebody that makes you feel as comfortable and relaxed as her.
