Boudoir Q&A: Sanae

My biggest fear in doing a boudoir session was having the confidence to pose in front of a camera. I had never done a photoshoot where I was the target focus let alone a boudoir photo shoot. I wasn’t sure I could feel sexy and in my own skin in front of a photographer I didn’t really know. I also feel like I had zero sexual appeal so I wasn’t sure how I was going to pose or how my face would turn out in the photos.

Working with Dawn during the whole process was super easy. She was very good at communicating and made me feel at ease with all the decision-making and planning. The first telephone meeting we set up, Dawn made me feel like I had known her forever. After the first initial phone call, we communicated mainly via email for the most part. She was always quick to respond to my emails and it made me feel more confident in doing a photoshoot with her because I knew she was reliable and dependable. She catered to all my needs and all of my questions.

During the first 5 minutes of the session, I did feel a little awkward. Coming into the lighting and being in front of the camera definitely made it feel like okay this is really happening. While setting up for the shoot and getting the lighting right, Dawn just started striking up a casual conversation with me, and this made me feel a lot more comfortable. Every time I would do a pose that worked really well, she boosted my confidence by telling me how amazing I looked. If a pose wasn’t working, she was also honest in telling me and we would try a different pose. The honesty was something I really appreciated because I knew Dawn was going to be real with me about what worked and what didn’t. She was able to make me feel really comfortable in my own skin. She knew exactly how to instruct me on posing and what lighting angle worked. Overall, the experience made me feel super sexy and beautiful.

Now that you have your photos, how do you feel about yourself as a woman?

When I saw my photos, I couldn’t believe how beautiful I looked. I had never seen myself as a sexy woman, but after seeing these photos, I felt empowered with how bold I looked. Stepping out and being able to do a photo session like this was something nobody thought I could ever do. Not even me. Seeing these photos remind me that I am a bold person with the ability to do anything I set my mind to.

I think everyone should do a boudoir session. Regardless of your reasons, whether you’re doing it for yourself or gifting your hubby, doing a boudoir session will empower you to feel beautiful as a woman!
